This stud has qualified for the All-city Cross Country meet in two weeks! Out of about 60 first grade boys, he placed in the top ten both meets and so he now gets to race in the Piston Cup. (Not really the Piston Cup, but to him it is as big as the Piston Cup, the big race, in the movie Cars for those who don't know).
Here he is waiting at the starting line for the gun to go off. He stood there for about 5 minutes like this. Obviously he does not like loud noises.
Crossing the finish line. He got 9th today in a time of 4:20. As you can see there were a couple boys really close together.

He handed me the school newsletter after his race today. There was his name, saying he qualified, just from last week and getting 7th place. Yay Blakers! Out of the 59 kids from Ridgeview who raced, he is 1 of the 9 that made it!

That is seriously such a big accomplishment. Now I understand why Spence didn't want to miss it.
