First day of first grade

Blake was sooo excited to go to school this morning. He came in my room at 5 am all happy and smiles and said, "I've been up since 4 and am excited. I can't fall asleep." I said, "Ummm bud, the sun isn't even out yet, go back to bed and wait until your alarm clock goes off." At about 7:15 when I was in my closet getting dressed, I heard a noise come from my door, "Mommy, it's me Blake. Can I wake up now?" I opened the door and there he was with his contagious smile. He then went back to his bed and sat there. When I noticed he was just sitting there and not getting showered or dressed I asked him what he was doing...he replied, "I'm waiting here until my alarm goes off." Kids take everything so literally! He showered and got ready as I made his lunch and made him a good breakfast.
Here he is eating his yummy eggs.

Getting a picture on the porch before we left
But it was too sunny, so we moved to the shade

Walking to school. His bag was so heavy with school supplies, it literally hung down almost to the ground. A couple houses down, daddy took over carrying the bag :)
He saw me taking pictures and he turned and smiled, like a little model

Unloading all the loot
Listening to his new teacher, Ms. Ghezzi. We had this conversation when we got home about the kid in the glasses in the below picture.
"Umm that kid in the glasses, he was in the wrong class. He apparently wasn't supposed to be in my class."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, he was supposed to be in 7th grade."
"7th ?"
"I mean 2nd. I guess he just forgot and decided to come to our class." LOL
Just picked him up! Happy as usual!
Rylee and I made chocolate chip cookies for him and when we got home we talked and ate cookies at the table. It was weird having him gone for so long during the day. But I have to admit, it was REALLY nice going grocery shopping with one less kid! I love him!!!

That is so cool that he's going to Ridgeview!! Just like us lol :) Even though they changed everything, it's still the same school! I'm so excited for him!
